What you'll be doing:

Working closely with the Green Municipal Fund's Sustainable Buildings Funding Team, a summer fellow would lead on the following tasks:

Sustainable Buildings Funding Team (80%):

Special Funding Process Improvement Projects:

Support to team members working on FCM's project to migrate its Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) and Grants and Loans Management System (GLMS) to the Cloud.

Research:

Conduct research on funded projects using completion and triple bottom line reports as well as occasionally contacting client to obtain additional project information
Support the Programs Team in any ongoing research projects related to Sustainable Buildings Offer design

Funding Supporting:

Drafting project summaries
Review of project progress and completion reports

Secondary component (20%); Jack Layton Fellowship Project**:

Work collaboratively within a team of 7 fellows selected from various FCM departments.
Continue the development of a campaign to commemorate Jack Layton's work. This campaign will focus on youth engagement in local communities with an emphasis on participation in municipal issues.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environment studies, urban planning enginnering, or related fields.
Working towards a Master's degree in environmental science, environmental studies, urban planning, engineering, or related fields.

Experience:

Familiarity with sustainability projects in the municipal sector.
Strong research and analytical skills able to conduct rigorous research, summarize findings and present recommendations.
Professional writing and material development skills ability to write succinct reports.
Bilingualism in both official languages is an asset. Ability to read in French is required.
