About the role:


Reporting to our Logistics Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to ensure all materials and services throughout the plant, as well as the shipping and preparation of materials, are purchased and arranged in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting and supporting supply chain operations
  • Excellent communication and people skills and a relationship builder / team player
  • Knowledge of how ERP systems work
  • You are eager to learn and grow with changes in systems and processes
  • You are a creative when it comes to problem solving and being resourceful
  • You are selfdirected and can execute responsibly without being told what to do
  • You're a visionary, and have an eye for the details, too. In other words, you've got your head in the clouds and feet in the mud
  • You thrive on solving problems, by identifying, investigating, and presenting solutions.
  • You love to coordinate with others to establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure production requirements are met.

What You'll Do:


  • Follow and enforce at plant level the company's procurement policies, procedures, and processes
  • Determine optimal suppliers and develop longterm relationships with these suppliers, while working with corporate procurement to ensure optimal supply lines are maintained
  • Using ERP, transfer Material Requirements Planning demands regularly into purchase orders and forward them to suppliers for processing
  • Closely work with the plant production team and collaborate on a regular basis with the other buyers and corporate office
  • Initiate purchase orders, review plant backlog and monitor status of existing planned and purchase orders
  • Report regularly on inventory levels and materials movement outside of the plant
