Ramada Resort and Spa is recruiting the top Conference and Wedding Sales Manager. Ramada
Resort and Spa is a lake front resort, located in Jackson's Point about one hour north of Toronto and is most desirable resort for Lakefront weddings Selling a memorable wedding experience is the main focus of the Wedding Sales Manager.
Your professionalism, experience, and knowledge of the Resort will be crucial to ensure that prospective brides and grooms feel that there is no better choice for them for their special daySummary of Responsibilities:
- Provides the guest with flawless, proactive and sincere services from an engaged and empowered workforce committed to creating a memorable experience
- Accountable for booking and increasing Wedding/Social Event business, through the development of new business (sales) and active follow up of existing inquiries;
- Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
- Solicit Conference and Wedding business by participating in trade shows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel and trade related organizations
- Prepare customized proposals and generate contracts
- Build professional and personal rapport with all potential wedding couples as well as wedding coordinators and planners throughout the industry
- Plan and oversee all aspects of conferences and weddings from sales, to the conception of the initial idea to the last detail of the event with assistance of the social event coordinator
- Perform site inspections
- Solicit from and confirm with clients, all information pertaining to the weddings/ conferences and organize information for accurate turnover once the account goes definite
- Organize and supervise assigned weddings from date of booking to departure, including venue requirements, guestroom requirements, food & beverage, audiovisual, accounting, etc.
- Maximize food, beverage and auxiliary revenues by selling menus, themes and experiences/activities
- Stay current with trends; assist with creation of new themes, special events and service standards;
- Collect market and competitive intelligence and adjust sales strategy as required
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications and expectations:
- Previous experience in a weddings and conference sales role is preferred
- A minimum of oneyear Hospitality SALES experience actively prospecting and securing new business
- Previous leadership experience
- Computer literate in Microsoft Window, excel and Delphi FDC
- University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Weekend work is required as is flexibility to attend site visits, functions/meetings.
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 40 per week
Salary:
$35,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Weekend availability
Supplemental pay types:
- Bonus pay
- Commission pay
- Overtime pay
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Jacksons Point, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
