**Program Overview - Community Programs, Workforce Development
The Supervisor directly leads a team of front-line service delivery staff.

The supervisor role requires a skilled project manager who can balance the demands of multiple projects and initiatives primarily addressing the needs of jobseekers and skilled trades employers while consistently collaborating with the training partner.

The Supervisor collaborates effectively with employers, and training partner to achieve organization objectives and best meet client needs. Due to WoodGreen's multi-site service delivery, the supervisor may work in different locations based on program needs. There also is the opportunity to work from home up to two days per week, depending on program needs.


What You Will Do

  • Ensure ontime, onbudget, and ontarget delivery of assigned projects through effective project management and collaboration/coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform site supervision duties at one or more WoodGreen locations in rotation with other managers and supervisors.
  • Directly supervise staff, including assigning and monitoring staff activities, providing regular feedback, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Ensure data entry, document management and all administrative requirements are addressed in a timely, accurate, complete, efficient, ethical, and transparent manner.
  • Support relationships with employers, directly and indirectly, to advance program operational outcomes.
  • Ensure that employment targets are met, employers are engaged in program design and research activities (as per project workplans) and new employer relationships are developed to meet the changing needs of client groups.
  • Support the design, development and evaluation of clientcentered, highly impactful training and group activities that directly contribute to achievement of target outcomes.
  • Provide advice in the development of the program budget, manage, and monitor delegated funds, and provide operational oversight to the distribution of participant support.
  • Provide coaching, training, and support to direct reports to ensure individual performance success and career growth within WoodGreen.
  • Ensure annual performance reviews are completed for direct reports, creating individualized learning and development plans to support internal talent.
  • Identify, coordinate, and facilitate staff training opportunities to ensure that staff have the skills required to meet the current expectations of the program.
  • Ensure the antiracism objectives and community development principles of the organization are achieved within the programs.
  • Support the Community Program's management team by taking on additional activities, projects and initiatives as required.
  • Integrate the principles of antiracism and community development into the work of the Community Connections team.
  • Responsible for upgrading training and education as required by WoodGreen.
  • Participate in regular supervisory sessions with the manager.
  • Participate in regular staff and unit meetings within the unit.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline (preferred)
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience, preferably within a unionized/community services sector.

  • A solid understanding of trends, issues and services within the career and employment sector, with knowledge of strategies to integrate vulnerable population in the labour market.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with community partners, nonprofit organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problemsolving, analytical, and decisionmaking skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in project oversight and target achievement.
  • Able to maintain administrative systems to meet program requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Able to manage and engage staff in an outcomebased environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of and sensitivity to issues facing individuals as related to employment and life stability, particularly for those from populations that are underrepresented in the labour market, including racialized persons, newcomers.
  • Understanding of and ability to communicate principles and practice of diversity and antiracism.
  • Knowledge and experience working in the trades, tradesrelated programming or other exposures/knowledge of trades, an asset.
  • Established relationships with various business sectors and partnership relationships with employers in the trades a strong plus.
