    We are looking for a Senior Finance Advisor, who will play an integral role within the Rio Tinto Aluminum Finance team, in the Finance Business Partner Function. This role is based at the BC Works Smelter & Power Operation site in Kitimat, British Columbia.

    Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, and working a Monday to Friday schedule, you will be:

    • Ensuring that health and safety is the top priority by following policies and procedures and always acting in a safe manner
    • Working alongside operational teams to help the site manage business performance: to assist in the plan execution while tracking against actual expenses; to identify threats and opportunities; and to offer guidance and stimulate ideas for forecasts
    • Simplifying and communicating financial information across the site with a clear focus on empowering employees at all levels and making them proactive in their decision making
    • Focusing on value creation and optimization opportunities and ensure initiatives are properly carried out
    • Coordinating reporting on cost management and value creation
    • Analysing and interpreting financial results to address the right levers for maximizing value
    • Preparing and reviewing financial models to evaluate the business case for financial investments
    • Participating in budget setting and forecasting
    • Assisting the company in targeting the most profitable initiatives to maximize value
    • Overseeing compliance with internal financial controls, while maintaining high ethical standards

    What you'll bring

    • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
    • At least seven years of relevant work experience
    • High adaptability to change
    • The ability to work well within a team and independently
    • Effective leadership qualities: the ability to set direction, prioritize and achieve objectives, actively listen, communicate, and influence
    • Advanced proficiency with data analytics and critical thinking
    • A solid understanding of the key drivers of profitability
    • At least a working knowledge of English

    It will also be beneficial if you have:

    • MBA or master's degree in a related field
    • CPA (chartered professional accountant) designation
    • Understanding of the manufacturing industry and/or industrial operations
    • French language skills

    Please note that fly-in, fly-out opportunities are not available. However, a domestic relocation package will be offered to eligible candidates.

    The base salary range for this role is $111,200 - $166,800 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, equity, health or retirement benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Rio Tinto. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, and impact you bring to the role.
