POSITION TITLE:
HR Specialist - Workplace Harassment and Violence Prevention (WHVP)***

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To develop sector-specific tools, share resources and provide training related to harassment and violence prevention that will support behavioural changes and a cultural shift in the workplace to ensure the physical and psychological safety of employees within the organization and the TteS community.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research, develop, and implement policies, processes and procedures and training focused on Workplace Harassment and Violence Prevention within TteS.
- Research and purchase legal and psychological publications to inform the development of the new policies, procedures and tools related to bullying, harassment and violence prevention.
- Create project steering committee to oversee and act as a liaison between the band council and the project staff. Host monthly meetings.
- Initiate a competitive process to select training consultants.
- Create a communication plan.
- Develop a project evaluation plan and survey forms to gather quantitative and qualitative data.
- Conduct surveys pertaining to bullying, violence and harassment awareness with all staff.
- Review TteS' s existing documents, policies, procedures and training to identify best practices and potential risk in relation the new regulations.
- Initiate train the trainer activities for project team on Lateral Violence training, and other relevant Workplace Harassment and Violence Prevention trainings.
- Launch training pertaining to workplace conflict and deescalation.
- Create new policies, procedures and sectorspecific tools and resources in responses to the surveys and research conducted.
- Institute an organizational wide campaign promoting the new policies and procedures, strategies, and training procedures.
- Initiate training of management and staff on the new policies and procedures on the health, safety and rights of the employees.
- Translate newly developed tools and resources to French for government reporting purposes.
- Develop communications materials such as brochures and posters for project promotion.
- Develop a legacy of onboarding annual refresher training program to ensure the new and existing employees continue to be trained on health and safety policies after the project's completion.
- Solicit feedback through survey with leadership and employees on the effectiveness of the tools developed and the training offered.
- Compile and analyse data from surveys.
- Revise onboarding and training tools as required based on feedback received.
- Prepare a summary of key findings to report and distribute to C&C and Economic Social Development Canada.
- Complete quarterly activity reports, forecast of expenditures, and claim forms as required by the Government of Canada.
Professional Certification, Education and Experience:
- Post secondary degree in Human Resource Management and 35 years directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience working cooperatively in a First Nation's work environment.
- CHRP designation is an asset.
- Must pass a criminal record check.
HOURS OF WORK:
Normal Day shifts - 7 hours. Non-normal shifts may be required.
PAY GRADE:
$35.32-$38.51 depending on education & experience.
