Position Summary:
The Accounting Coordinator will assist with preparation and filing of Company licenses and non-income tax returns. They will be responsible for conducting tax research regarding licenses, assist on audits, and work on other department projects.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file Canadian and U.S. Company license renewals
- Gather supporting documentation and prepare working papers in support of license filings
- Leverage existing license software to track license due dates and update documentation
- Conduct tax research when new licenses are required
- Prepare and submit tax payment requests
- Prepare mailing envelopes and FedEx packages as needed
- Provide tax and audit support to Core-Mark's operations in the US and Canada
- Participate in Tax Department projects as required
Requirements:
- 2+ years of demonstrated accounting experience preferred i.e., Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable / Bookkeeping
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite with strong Excel skills
- Experience with SAP (or similar ERP systems) and an aptitude to learn new software is a plus
- Selfmotivated, detailoriented, highly organized with the ability to multitask
- Exposure to and interest in tax compliance and tax research
- A teamplayer with effective interpersonal skills and inoffice work experience
