Responsibilities

  • Quarterly review the internal capital model, including the various actuarial and financial submodels, assumptions, controls and documentation. Automation of certain processes in order to secure and optimize them.
  • Participate in the enhancement and maintenance of the internal capital model across the Group to ensure adequate level of capital and to monitor the evolution of our risk profile.
  • Support the integration of the internal capital model in decisionmaking processes (e.g. pricing, merger and acquisition). Participate in the development and monitoring of risk measures to ensure compliance with our risk tolerance.
  • Participate in the quantification stages of the ORSA process and maintain the stress test framework for the Group. Determine scenarios and shocks as well as quantification of financial impacts. Collaborate closely with the different actuarial sectors within the company.
  • Assist in the independent validation of the models developed across the Group.
  • Closely follow the evolution of industry best practices in risk modeling and model risk governance and propose ways to continuously improve these practices within the company.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics.
  • At least 5 years of recent experience in risk quantification and relevant actuarial work experience.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., R, Python) and database management.
  • Knowledge of risk and capital regulatory guidelines related to financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of life products and capital models
  • Fellowship designation (FICA, FSA), CERA, FRM (asset)

  • Strong ability to interpret and analyze information in order to synthesize it and make recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics clearly and concisely.
  • Strong modelling and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
