Team & Job Overview
The Vice-President, Management Reporting & Forecasting reports to the SVP, Finance and Chief Financial Officer.

The Management Reporting & Forecasting team brings together teams and employees performing business reporting, risk reporting, financial forecasting and expense management activities across different EDC teams today in order to drive more consistency and more valuable business insights in support of our short-term initiatives and the longer-term 2030 Strategy.


This team of Reporting and Forecasting experts:

  • Provides a centralized management reporting function for all of EDC covering financial metrics and non-financial metrics, including backward and forward-looking information to inform decision making.
  • Provides front line portfolio management information and market trends.
  • Develops financial forecasts for the annual Corporate Plan, along with monthly updates to the forecast to guide performance during the year.
  • Provides expense management leadership including reporting, trend analysis and the identification of opportunities to reduce or reallocate funding to other areas of the business.
  • Creates strong partnerships with the business teams to ensure that the reporting and insights are tailored to drive decisionmaking and support the strategy.
  • Creates strong linkages with other business information (including pipeline information, won/lost data, etc.) to drive future performance.
  • Leverages data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI) and drives simplification by consolidating reports and eliminating duplications and inconsistencies.
  • Works closely with the Data Management Office to improve data definitions, data quality and data sourcing to drive consistency and reduce the amount of time spent on data manipulation and cleansing.
  • Partners with a variety of internal stakeholders, including the Chief Business Office (Sales, Underwriting, etc.), Accounting, Model Risk Management, Global Risk Management.

  • Creates visibility to financial and nonfinancial information to help assess performance and inform decisionmaking.
  • Enhances EDC's financial forecasting capabilities, including forecasting by segment and product, with improvements over time that capture sector, geography, etc.
  • Creates strong business partnerships to tailor the information to meet business needs.
  • Drives a datadriven culture at EDC, including improvements around data consistency and quality.
  • Leads around the use of modern tools and techniques to streamline reporting processes and provide better insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creates a compelling vision and clear roadmap for the management reporting and forecasting discipline at EDC.
  • Drives and champions the future direction of all management reporting at EDC.
  • Leads the integration of separate teams and employees who provide management reporting or forecasting information today to create One Team
  • Has primary accountability to provide Senior Management with the information and insights they require to set and achieve our overall financial objectives and specific targets for key initiatives in the shortterm and/or to achieve the longerterm 2030 Strategy.
  • Accountable for the financial forecast for the annual Corporate Plan
  • Engages with the Board of Directors on the Corporate Plan and/or other key initiatives related to business performance, expense management, etc.
  • Partners closely with the Corporate Controller on the financial close, quarterly financial statements and annual audits
  • Partners closely with the Chief Business Office on commercial related metrics
  • Partners closely with the Global Risk Management organization on risk related data and reporting.
