Reports to:
Manager, Accounting & Financial Reporting


Job Type:
Permanent, Full-time


Job Purpose:

To support the timely and accurate financial reporting of the company's financial results to internal management and corporate head office on a weekly and monthly basis.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the preparation of weekly forecasts, monthly financial statements and reporting requirements, and other quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Review and analyze financial statement trends and variances against budget, forecast, and prior year and provide adequate explanations to substantiate.
  • Perform addition/disposition of fixed assets and maintain the ledger.
  • Reconcile cash system transactions to bank transactions on a daily basis.
  • Complete balance sheet account reconciliations monthly: bank, fixed assets, prepaids, accrued payables, analyze underlying balances, and investigate discrepancies identified in the period.
  • Review and approve invoices in the financial accounting system. Coordinate with the accounts payable team to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare journal entries and document with appropriate support.
  • Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures in place and complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
  • Perform duties with diligence and accuracy, while adhering to timelines.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks and analysis as requested by management.

Requirements and Competencies:


  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in a general accounting role.
  • University or College Accounting or Business degree.
  • Enrolled or working towards obtaining CPA designation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).
  • Experience working with Oracle Financial ERP system is an asset.
  • Ability to handle strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, problemsolving and analytical skills.
