POSITION BACKGROUND
The Training Manager plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of training programs within an organization. They are responsible for assessing training needs, designing curriculum, coordinating training sessions, and evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives. The Training Manager works closely with various departments to ensure that training programs align with organizational goals and objectives.


CORE DUTIES
Team Development

  • Ensures due diligence and liability requirements are met, in consultation with Safety Advisors.
  • Identify strengths, areas for improvement, and developmental needs of individual team members.
  • Work closely with team members to establish clear development goals and objectives aligned with their career aspirations and organizational needs.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to help team members improve their performance.
  • Recognize achievements and accomplishments while also addressing any performance issues or challenges in a supportive manner.
  • Manage teams and employees in multiple branches. Ensuring the overall goals and procedures of Ketek Group and its training department are met.
Training and Development

  • Design training materials, modules, and resources utilizing appropriate methodologies and technologies for both Ketek Group and External clientele.
  • Work with the executive leadership team to implement newly required training, per client requests or legislative changes.
  • Recommend and arrange professional development courses for employees at the discretion of management.
  • Work with managers to develop personal improvement plans for employees needing additional training.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in training methodologies.
  • Continuously review and enhance existing training programs to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and evaluations.
  • Monitor participant progress and gather feedback to identify areas for improvement and adjustment.
  • Analyze performance gaps and determine training requirements to address them effectively.
  • Ability to foster an environment of support mentorship and teamwork within a diverse group of individuals.
Other Duties

  • Assist employees in accessing online orientations and printing certificates.
  • Act as the key point of contact for all human resources documentation audits.
  • Represent Ketek in a light that is commensurate with the values of Management and the Corporate Vision and Mission Statements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required

  • Fluent in the English language (reading, written, spoken).
  • Postsecondary education in a related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience in training administration.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and demanding deadlines while working individually or as part of a team.
  • Be proactive, selfmotivated, and selfdirected.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Able to deal with the public in a positive, courteous, and respectful manner.
  • Effectively handle changing schedules and priorities, with highlevel prioritization skills.
  • Strong work ethic and organizational planning skills with attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Able to handle confidential information appropriately.
Preferred

  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
  • Knowledge of adult instructional and learning theory and principles, instructional design, training methodologies, learning management systems, and competency assessment.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery including but not limited to Front End Loaders, Skid Steers, Excavators, and Ariel Work Platforms.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand/sit, talk/hear, use hands/fingers to operate a computer and telephone, stoop, and kneel.
  • Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
Work Environment

  • Office environment (100%).
  • May be required to work weekends and outside of regular office hours.
