Located in the picturesque hamlet of Cambridge Bay, Kiilinik High School serves the community of Cambridge Bay. The school has a population of approximately 220 students in a 7-12 setting with a staff of 24. The school and community are steeped in a rich history of Inuit culture.Required qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education degree
- Eligible for Nunavut Teaching Certificate
Desired qualifications:
- Subject, knowledge, training and experience relevant to the assignment
- Experience and / or training with current assessment methods
- Evidence of differentiated instruction and inclusive practices
- Experience and / or training in classroom management practices and the development of positive learning environments (eg. Restitution, Tribes, Positive Effective Behavior Supports, etc.)
- Crosscultural and/or northern teaching experience
- Evidence of training and / or experience in the area of Balanced Literacy at the elementary level
- Training and / or teaching experience in an English Language Learner (ELL) environment
- Evidence / experience building positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, stakeholders
Please note:
Subsidized housing is available but sharing may be required.
The salary for certified teachers ranges from $82,003 prorated/annum. to $128,579 prorated/annum.
The Northern Allowance for Cambridge Bay is $20,891 prorated/annum.

CRC and VSC forms expire after 6 months, please ensure these are up to date.
