Description
We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our BPA team in Toronto.A Customer Service Representative acts as an interface between customers and the company by attending to their queries and handling complaints.
A customer service representative is expected to provide superior customer service.He or she works as a member of the Customer Service Centre Team and reports to the Contact Centre Supervisor.
The Customer Service Representative will:
- Be responsible for handling queries regarding benefit and pension plan member/participant claims, benefits and eligibility, employer benefit contributions and individual's retirement accounts
- Provide superior customer service by handling all questions and concerns with speed and professionalism
- Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken using computer software programs
- Address the concerns of customers both in person and over the phone
- Refer unresolved customer queries or grievances to appropriate staff members or designated departments for further assistance or investigation.
- Implement requested changes to existing accounts and performs other account maintenance and clerical duties as requested including assisting with special mailouts
- Maintain security and confidentiality of member records
- Report directly to Contact Centre Supervisor
- Build relationships with other customer service centre team members
- Work directly with benefit plan members and their dependents, union representatives, contributing employers and benefit providers
To be successful as a Customer Service Representative
with BPA, you will need:
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are essential
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
- Relevant benefits knowledge
- To handle and resolve customer complaints
- Exceptional listening skills
- To research skills to trouble shoot customer problems using available resources
- Organizational skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months or more experience in a call center environment
- Previous customer service experience related to group benefits
- Previous experience in office administration and clerical processes
- Bilingual (French/English) would be an asset
- Bilingual (Italian/English) would be an asset
- Bilingual (Mandarin/English) would be an asset
- Bilingual (Turkish/English) would be an asset
