About this role:


This is an opportunity to bring your global experience and leadership of full-cycle accounting to build, coach and develop a high-performing team to fully own all aspects of the company's corporate accounting function.

We are looking for an energetic strategic thinker who is a problem solver, relationship builder and constantly seeks to learn and grow his/her and team's capabilities as our business scales.

This role will work hybrid from our Kitchener/Waterloo Headquarters.


How you will make a difference:

  • Lead the operations of the Accounting Department across revenue, billing, inventory, financial reporting, payroll and other general accounting matters
  • Drive excellence in the monthly close and consolidations processes across multiple entities globally while ensuring that the reported results comply with accounting standards and policies and procedures are followed timely and efficiently
  • Play a key role in our ERP implementation, developing a strategic view of how systems, processes and data enable efficiency in accounting operations and result in improved decision making
  • Work with external auditors and provide needed information for the annual audit
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements across Canada and the US, and oversee third party accounting and tax filings globally
  • Maintain and document company's accounting policies and procedures
  • Implement strong governance and internal controls
  • Manage cash and banking processes while building cash forecasting capability and instilling metrics driven approach to working capital management
  • Develop, hire and retain accounting talent

Key requirements and experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
  • 10+ years of accounting experience in a fastpaced environment
  • 3+ years management experience
  • Experience with SOX compliance or implementing internal controls frameworks
  • Public Accounting Experience preferred
  • Sophisticated depth of communication, analytical, project management and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask efficiently, collaborate cross functionally and lead and inspire accounting team in a hybrid work environment
  • Maintain close attention to detail and strict deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of Epicor (preferred), NetSuite or similar ERP, and familiarity with leading accounting technology solutions
