Weyerhaeuser's (Engineered Lumber Products) Timberstrand manufacturing Plant, located on beautiful Lake of the Woods in Kenora, Ontario, is currently seeking permanent full-time Certified Mechanical Technician.

Our plant manufactures high strength engineered wood product Timberstrand in a 24/7 operations, non-union, manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Lead the Certified Mechanical Technician will be responsible for:

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of hydraulic system and components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical equipment issues
  • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Use SAP for Materials and Work Order Management
  • Basic welding and fabrication.
  • Coordinate contractor activities as required.
  • Keep work area and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly condition
  • Perform duties and operate equipment in a safe and satisfactory manner
  • Complete all jobs in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Trades Qualification in an applicable discipline (must be certified in a mechanical trade).
Years in an industrial environment would be an asset.

  • Proven analytical troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
  • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be willing to work on a rotating shift schedule that includes both days and nights, 12hour continuous shifts.
