    We are looking for a Quality Control Supervisor.

    JOB PURPOSE:

    • The Quality Control Supervisor will provide front line supervision to Quality Control staff while ensuring the general objectives of the Quality Program are met. This includes supporting the inspection team, ensuring standards and nuclear guidelines are followed and meeting set schedules.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Quality Control (QC) lab.
    • Lead, manage and coach the QC team to meet all requirements of the QC function.
    • Coordinate and conduct training to ensure employees are qualified to perform assigned inspections.
    • Provide technical support on the operation of the CMM, this includes trouble-shooting issues and making recommendations to improve program cycle times.
    • Review and interpret CMM reports to identify issues and areas of improvement to keep process variations within acceptable limits.
    • Drive the QC schedule to ensure targets are met per the Master Schedule. When changes are necessary or issues occur, work with the Master Scheduler to create recovery plans.
    • Ensure equipment calibrations and related schedules are maintained.
    • Ensure departmental performance, using established metrics, as well as introducing new and appropriate measurements as needed.
    • Identify patterns and problem areas in the inspection process and develop and implement effective strategies that will ensure product quality and efficiency in production processes.
    • Complete quality documentation as necessary (non-conformance reports, dimensional inspection reports, engineering change requests etc).
    • Involved in root cause analysis of non-conformances and associated actions required to correct issues.
    • Assist Engineering and Production with inspection planning to incorporate the right level of inspection in the Work Instructions.
    • Support the inspection process in Operations, issue deficiency reports against departments that violate procedures, assist with interpretation of drawings, procedures, acceptance standards and product acceptability as well as deal with and resolve Customer Inspector concerns.
    • Involved in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to review metrics for NCR's, rework and scrap.
    • Perform trend analysis on each small cell product measured in the quality lab.
    • Develop process improvement plans using a variety of Quality and Continuous Process Improvement tools, including but not limited to: Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, SPC, engineering studies, DOE, Gauge R&R, etc.

    Administration:

    • Ensure compliance to all labour, human rights, safety, and environmental regulations and associated company policies.
    • Promote various safety initiatives and demonstrates a "safety first" mindset.
    • Responsible for addressing safety concerns and hazards raised by direct reports.
    • Follow all safety policies and procedures and ensure the same of direct reports. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment in required areas.
    • Responsible for reporting any personal workplace injuries immediately and supporting in the completion of accident reports for injuries reported by your direct reports.
    • Responsible for employee relations which includes, but is not limited to, hiring, work direction, mentoring, coaching, disciplining and the identification of training needs for employees.
    • Manage and mentor employees. This includes setting performance targets, establishing annual goals with employees and conducting performance reviews as required by company policy.
    • Ensures all employees are suitably trained/qualified/licensed for the various tasks and jobs they must complete.
    • Sets a positive example by maintaining a respective attitude, cooperating with co-workers, management, and internal and external customers
    • Report to work for regularly scheduled shifts on time and ready to work.
    • Effectively give and receive feedback and willingly asks questions and seek direction as needed.
    • Willingly accepts responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge with other employees.
    • Maintains an acceptable level of performance by following established policies and procedures, and participating in continuous improvement efforts by supporting and implementing new ideas.
    • Be a productive team member and help to meet established departmental and Company goals.
    • Perform all other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Knowledge and Experience:

    • Post-secondary education in metrology, quality or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience and education.
    • 3 to 5 years of experience working in a quality management or supervisory role.
    • Strong understanding of the use and operation of CMMs equipment, this includes the interpretation of generated reports. Experience with Zeiss (Calypso software) and Wenzel (Quartis software) as asset.
    • Expertise in reading and interpreting engineering component drawings including a very strong understanding of metrology and GD&T.
    • Experience working with CNC precision-machined components and related processes including heat treatment, plating, assembly and testing activities an asset.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to communicate, motivate and lead teams in the pursuit of optimal resolutions to problems.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
    • Strong communication and problem-solving skills to lead within a team-based environment.
    • Experience working in the Candu nuclear, aerospace or defense industries an asset.
    • Understanding of ASME Section III Code and the ISO 9001:2015, CSA N285.0 and CAN3-CSA Z299 quality standards an asset.

    The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $78,000 and $121,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
