Are you passionate about supporting survivors of gender-based violence and making a meaningful impact? Join the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic as a Volunteer Grant Researcher and contribute your skills to help secure funding for our vital initiatives.
This is an unpaid volunteer position.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify grant opportunities that align with our mission, vision, projects, and services
- Make recommendations about possible funding sources from foundations, corporations, and other sources.
- Collaborate with the team to identify funding needs and support alternative funding requests.
- Liaise with program staff to ensure that grant proposals accurately convey program activities, outcomes, and budget needs.
- When needed, assist in following up on grant submissions, engaging with funders as necessary, and providing timely reporting on grantrelated activities.
- When needed, assist in the development of necessary accounting, budget reporting and tracking systems for grant proposals or awarded grants and alternate funds.
Knowledge & Experience
- Ability to conduct thorough research and identify suitable grant opportunities.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.
- Strong editing skills, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and knowledge of grant information sources.
- Experience with proposal writing and knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies.
- Possess strong oral and interpersonal skills to be able to communicate with potential organizations and/or government contacts on the desired grant.
- A passion for feminism and social justice backed up by an informed point of view and a thorough understanding of the Clinic's mission, vision, values, and services.
- Passion for nonprofit work and a strong commitment to creating positive social impact.
Technology Capabilities Requirement
- Remote access ability. You will be required to use your own computer/laptop.
- You must be familiar with online webconferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams).
Time commitment
- Minimum 35 hours/per week (remote)
