DZ DRIVER
SUMMARY
The DZ Driver is responsible for the general pick-up and delivery of Keilhauer finished goods and parts between facilities.
They must transport items in a safe, timely manner and be capable of repetitive heavy lifting, using any necessary equipment and following all safety protocols.
This role is best suited to an organized team player with a clean driving record that enjoys physical activity and is an effective communicator.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Delivers finished goods and inventory between Keilhauer facilities on a daily basis.
- Moves products and parts between all Keilhauer locations, including external warehouses.
- Takes finished Keilhauer products to the distribution warehouse for shipping.
- Assists with unloading trucks.
- Assists with general warehouse/shipping duties as assigned or when available.
- Contributes as a reliable and effective team member within and across teams.
- Occasional deliveries/pickups at vendor locations on an as needed basis.

Performs all tasks in keeping with Keilhauer's safety and quality standards
- Maintains truck with regular inspections and basic maintenance.
- Documents damaged goods and reports to management.
- Ensures all Ministry of Transportation regulations are followed.
- Follows all company and OSHA Safety regulations; works in a safe manner and uses personal protective equipment as instructed; reinforces housekeeping and Keilhauer's core values.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years' experience in heavy truck driving/delivery driving required (trucks are approx. 26 feet box length); must possess a valid DZ driver's license.
- Previous experience working in a fastpaced warehouse/shipping/receiving environment is an asset.
- Completion of a high school diploma.
- Must be able to perform physical activities and handle products of various geometry and weight.
- Must be able to complete and pass a commercial driving abstract and motor vehicle driving abstract.
- Must be able to provide Auto Plus letter or Letter of Experience, including any motor vehicle accidents, if any.
HOURS OF WORK
7am to 4:15pm Monday - Thursday;
7am - 12pm Friday
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND INTELLECTUAL REQUIREMENTS
Communication:
Must be able to read and write in English; must be able to speak English or communicate in American Sign Language (ASL); must work well with others and communicate effectively.
Mobility:
Must be able to perform regular physical activities (reaching, bending, pulling, pushing, stretching, lifting); must be able to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time; must go to various locations, both within the organization and offsite (ex.
parts pickup and delivery); must be able to drive and operate a truck, pallet truck and 2-wheel hand truck; must maneuver across a cement floor to access various areas of the production/warehouse facility; must be able to handle products of various geometry and weight; may be required to help in other areas to meet business needs.Manual Dexterity & CoordinationMust have the strength, dexterity and coordination to regularly lift pieces in excess of 45 kg using assisted lifting techniques or devices for heavier objects; must use hands, wrists, fingers and legs to operate a truck, forklift, pallet truck, hand truck or other lifting device; must use hands and legs to load and unload parts and products.
Vision:
Must have good visual acuity to safely follow traffic rules; inspect and evaluate quality of products, select correct components, and read the daily schedule; specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision and the ability to focus.
Cognitive Ability:
Must have the ability to read and interpret work guidelines, safety instructions and operating manuals; must possess general knowledge of traffic safety, truck safety, forklift safety and proper lifting techniques; must have the ability to learn new skills; must have the ability to follow directions; must use common sense and be able to carry out written and/or oral instructions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee splits their time between driving the truck and working in production/warehouse environments.
- Must be capable of multitasking and able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Must be capable of traveling to other locations as required to perform job function.
