Manager of Corporate Communications & Brand

Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Marketing Communications, the
Manager, Corporate Communications & Brand is responsible for supporting strategy development and for managing the execution of all corporate communication and branding initiatives across the organization, including:

  • Developing and delivering on Spark Power's communication, brand awareness, and sponsorship strategy through internal and external efforts with key stakeholders;
  • Managing the marketing budget to ensure appropriate return on investment; and
  • Coordinating of allocation of work amongst third party service providers and staff.


The Manager of Corporate Communications & Brand will work closely with the senior management, regional marketing managers, corporate functional departments (ie., People & Culture, Health & Safety, Supply Chain etc.) and line of business operations to ensure consistent communication across all markets and channels and build Spark's brand awareness.


Here's what you will do as the Manager of Corporate Communications & Brand:

Corporate Communications

  • Provide business with communications support and counsel for business priorities by developing briefing materials, presentations, executive notes, media materials, and scripts for projects and events (ie, open houses, speaking engagements etc.)
  • Collaborate with internal leaders, customers, and partners to develop and disseminate press releases.
  • Support senior leaders through management of investor relations, including press releases, scripting, event management (i.e., earnings, AGM), presentation decks, coordination of annual report and SEDAR filings; working with third party platform.
  • Represent Marketing Communications function for projects related to M&A, integration, amalgamation, and due diligence projects by leading and executing communication strategies.
  • Develop and manage crisis communications plan for Spark, ensuring training for key stakeholders.
  • Manage and report on our internal communications platforms, including overseeing soft content and page development, and executing and disseminating critical messages/programs from senior management and People & Culture teams.
  • Manage employee Town Halls, including liasing and coaching management, developing and executing communication plans, and managing event production; report on event and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee donations program and budget, working closely with the Community committee to ensure employee donations and volunteer days are managed to budget; promote efforts through internal communication campaigns and external channel platforms to build Spark's brand as a community leader.
  • Work crossfunctionally with the People & Culture team to roll out employee engagement programs and multiprong communications through internal platforms, which include but not limited to: award and milestone programs, referral programs, culture and value programs/surveys, learning and development, benefit programs etc., reporting on employee engagement levels.

Brand Awareness

  • Ownership of Spark Power's brand strategy, which includes management and maintenance of all branded assets, key messaging, and value propositions across centralized marketing assets such as the website, social media, marketing materials, signage etc.
  • Work crossfunctionally with our People & Culture team to develop, deliver, and report on our employer brand strategy, promoting Spark as an employer of choice.
  • Oversee corporate events, ensuring consistent representation of the Spark brand; managing to budget.
  • Oversee Spark Power swag store, working with thirdparty vendor to develop programs and custom orders.
  • Manage corporate sponsorships to budget, including contract development, brand awareness strategies, and partner relationships, reporting on sponsorship ROI.

Administrative

  • Develop, deliver, and report on an annual marketing plan and budget for corporate communications and brand awareness, including recommending the solutions and tactics to support multiple areas of the business.
  • Foster relationships with both internal and external stakeholders through meetings, committees, and events.
  • Manage third party resources and act as the primary liaison between the company and the agency.
  • Provide Director of Marketing Communications with regular reporting of KPIs and ROIs under management, providing detailed insights and improvement recommendations.

Do you have the Spark? Here's what we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing, communications, or management role in similar capacity.
  • Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Business is an asset
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience in strategic development and execution of marketing plans as they relate to digital marketing, content marketing, event planning, communications, and branding.
