Operational Excellence is a department within the Quality, Equity and Medical Affairs portfolio.

Operational Excellence works to promote and lead quality planning, improvement work, Accreditation and build Quality Improvement (QI) capacity and capability across Unity Health Toronto.

We are dedicated to elevating the organization¿s performance to new heights by cultivating a culture of continuous improvement and streamlined operations.


Reporting to the Manager, Operational Excellence, the primary role of the Project Coordinator is to assist and support in the planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating improvement initiatives.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:


_Improvement Projects _- Assists and supports team in managing, coordinating and facilitating multiple quality improvement initiatives- Supports team with identifying, scheduling and tracking project deliverables, milestones and required tasks- Performs data gathering and analysis, prepares current state/future state workflow assessments for projects and initiatives within Operational Excellence scope- Manages and coordinates small scale projects- Assists team in planning and implementing change management activities- Assists in the development and maintenance of project management/coordination methodologies, policies, procedures and standards


_Other_- Supports team in creating project and accreditation plans, reports, documents and presentations using Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint- Coordinates accreditation and project activities and meetings when requested by team- Assists in the support and delivery of quality improvement education and training- Supports team in recording, documenting and monitoring accreditation and project issues and risks from discovery to resolution- Documents and distributes meeting minutes and action items when requested- Assists team in collaboration with various levels of stakeholders internally and externally as required (including clinicians, physicians, non-clinical staff, other organizations and agencies, etc.)


QUALIFICATIONS- Undergraduate degree- One (1) to two (2) years project management experience in a health care environment an asset- Knowledge of Accreditation Canada and the accreditation process an asset- Understanding of quality improvement concepts including the IHI Model for Improvement, change management and process redesign (Lean/Six Sigma) an asset- Proficient in MS Office: Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Word- Demonstrated ability to interact with people from all disciplines; at all levels of experience and at all levels of the organization and maintain confidentiality- Demonstrated high level of initiative, self-direction, flexibility and ability to adapt to change;- Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex, or ambiguous- Ability to assist in analyzing complex problems, interpretation of operational needs, and developing integrated, creative solutions- Excellent organizational and teamwork skills- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with change effectively in a team environment- Proven oral and written communication and presentation skills- Ability to multi-task with a high degree of focus and work to tight timelines- Strong ability to negotiate with and influence others- Ability to develop materials/tools for educational purposes and training sessions- Demonstrated leadership and commitment to continuous professional learning
