Health & Safety Administrator

  • Under the direction of the Health, Safety & Child Protection Manager, the Health & Safety Administrator is responsible for supporting and contributing to the development, implementation and maintenance of the company's Occupational Health and Safety Program.
    Position Responsibilities
  • Program and Policy Administration_
  • Act as the first point of call for all Health and Safety queries, directing calls, taking messages or addressing issues in a professional and efficient manner
  • Assist Manager and Advisor in implementing compliance updates (OHS regulations and legislation)
  • Identify and eliminate duplicate records to ensure data integrity across all platforms
  • Development and tracking of Policy review matrix
  • OHS Compliance_
  • Assist with documentation and follow up to ensure all accident / incident reports are triaged, track investigation corrective actions and ensure recommendations are appropriately and consistently implemented
  • Maintain accurate, completed and current contractor profiles, approvals and evaluations
  • Review and ensure all JHSC are conducting and completing meetings as per the Legislative requirements
  • Injury and Claims Management_
  • Work with management to ensure effective processes are in place to minimize the impact of injuries on both employees and the organization in terms of absenteeism and WCB costs
  • Assist with the accident and injury reporting system and management system for workers compensation as required by law
  • Maintain claims management records and reports
  • Follow all confidentiality and privacy guidelines
  • Training & Reporting_
  • Manage compliance related to health and safety training requirements
  • Develop monthly OHS Briefings for distribution
  • In partnership with the Manager, communicate all high priority incidents through our incident reporting protocol.
  • Collect and compile reporting related to incidents through our incident management system

  • Ability to deal positively with change and willingness to embrace new opportunities and working practices within health & safety

What You'll Need

  • Post-Secondary Education in Business Administration, Office Administration or related training and/or equivalent experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety Management Systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of Health & Safety legislation
  • Strong proficiency with computer systems including Microsoft Office
  • A working knowledge of HRIS or EMS systems an asset
