Administrative Full-time New Position
The Consultant of Teaching Innovation helps faculty innovate their teaching and assessment practices.
They support individual professors, program teams, and departments to address the impact technological change such as artificial intelligence (AI) has on post-secondary education.
Please note that travel to all Conestoga campuses is a requirement for this position. This position will require evening and weekend work throughout the year.Responsibilities:
- Develops resources, microcourses, and workshops to support faculty in the addressing the impact of AI and technological change
- Develops general teachingrelated workshops for the broader college community
- Coordinates and creates best practice videos, blog posts, guides
- Designs customized coaching and consultations
- Conducts observations for faculty at all campuses
- Works with other team members, faculty, coordinators, Chairs, and others to identify common learning needs and develops appropriate observation and feedback mechanisms
- Develops and delivers onboarding to new faculty
- Supports the codelivery of onboarding activities for Conestoga faculty (both full and parttime), including mentoring, delivery of new faculty orientation workshops, and creation and updating of new faculty onboarding resources
- Works with individual professors, programs, and departments on teaching topics and projects related to technological change and AI
- Remains current with teaching practices and procedures by teaching one course per year at Conestoga
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education or Master's Degree with additional studies in Artificial Intelligence (AI) Education; PhD preferred
- Nine or more years of experience teaching in outcomesbased, postsecondary credit courses; Senior level secondary school experience would be considered
- Previous experience leading "teacher education" and experience with technologyenhanced teaching practices preferred
- High skill level in all aspects of the postsecondary education process (e.g. curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, evaluation, active learning, etc.)
- Strong background in postsecondary, outcomesbased inclusive teaching methodologies, practices, and principles
- Advanced research, analytical, critical thinking, and report writing skills
- Highly knowledge level of all aspects of the teaching and learning process
- Excellent Microsoft Office and documentation creation skills
- Good working knowledge of learning management systems
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Strong and demonstrable interpersonal and intercultural skills
- Coaching skills, consultation, and planning skills
- Ability to facilitate difficult conversations
