This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for an individual to join Alberta Kidney Care - North (AKCN) in the Home Dialysis program.


Description:

This position is located at West Edmonton Kidney Care, a University of Alberta Hospital Community Facility.

Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Unit Manager is accountable for the effective management of human, financial, and physical resources.

The Unit Manager monitors and organizes the workflow for the efficient delivery of patient care services through staff scheduling and assignment of work duties.

The unit Manager is expected to incorporate evidence and best practice into daily operations through collaboration with the management team, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.

Guided by Practice Direction Documents, the Unit Manager provides clinical leadership and ensures quality care in Home Peritoneal and Home Hemodialysis.

As a member of the management team, the Unit Manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support process and quality improvement initiatives, collaborate to determine priorities, and implement AKCN strategic objectives as part of AHS vision and values.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required. Active CRNA registration required. Three-5 years nephrology experience required. Connect Care experience required.


Additional Required Qualifications:


Proven leadership skills including a demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching, teaching, and the ability to build confidence in others.

Able to demonstrate effective teamwork, conflict resolution, change


Preferred Qualifications:

Home dialysis experience preferred. Current CNeph certification preferred. Consideration will be given to equivalencies in education and experience.
