The Health Care Aide shall provide personal care and other services to residents in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Home.


Job Details
1.

7:30 am to 4:00 pm


  • Monday to Friday (full time hours)
  • Wage based on experience and certificates

Employment Terms:


  • Must have the ability to commute to work (17 Genier Street, St. Albert, ON)
  • Must have a Canadian work permit
  • Must be bilingual
  • Medication Administration Certificate (requirement)

Key Responsibilities:


  • Provides services and interacts with residents and resident family members in a professional manner
  • Administers medication to residents as needed
  • Complete all assigned paperwork
  • Participates as a member of the care team and provides support to the other members of the Services team
  • Observes and adheres to all policies and procedures, work standards and safety regulations
  • Assists and attends to care needs of the residents as required
  • Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
  • Aware of employees and supervisor's responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures
  • Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, coworkers, and residents
  • Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations
  • Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by task, MSDS, or home policy
  • Other related duties as assigned

Education/Experience:


  • Previous experience in providing personal care
  • Preferred postsecondary education in related care fields of PSW/HCA/ DSW certification
  • Must be able to read and communicate effectively in French and English
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions in French and English
  • Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
  • Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints
  • Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Must be able to operate related equipment
  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift and carrying heavy items

Salary:
$17.00-$20.50 per hour


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
