About the Opportunity:


Reporting to the Manager, Compensation and Benefits, the OM Consultant has a strong business and system knowledge base and is responsible to develop, coordinate and implement position management related processes.

They act as the expert in maintaining the jobs, positions and organizational units and their relationships within NSH electronic system structure, as well as position-based security impacts and analysis in relation to the FI/HCM/MM modules.

The OM Consultant has a cross functional expertise between the OM and Compensation modules with an extensive understanding of the pay scale structure and how it relates to the OM module.

They act as the custodian of organizational design, which includes ensuring alignment of the position, job and org structure within the Business Enterprise System (Success Factors/SAP).


The OM Consultant plays a key role in operational service delivery by providing direction and support to the OM Analyst and other members of the People Services portfolio on resolving complex issues and ensuring they have accurate information and tools required for the organizational structure management activities.

They develop, coordinates and implements mass structural changes to the jobs, positions and organizational structure.

The OM Consultant makes recommendations related to the ongoing development of comprehensive and standardized processes and practices to support client needs and the effective, efficient and sustainable delivery of services and programs.

They run audits and analysis to ensure the integrity of the structure is maintained.


The OM Consultant works in close collaboration with the People Services team and NSH Managers, providing specialized resources/expertise and training as required.

The work location will be determined based on the area the successful applicant resides.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate of post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources or Business Administration/Commerce or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Relevant certification in business enterprise information systems (particularly Success Factors/SAP) preferred.
  • Membership in relevant local and/or national professional association(s) preferred.
  • Relevant certification in the field of Human Resources preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with Success Factors/SAP business enterprise information systems and with experience in organizational management (OM).
  • 5 years' generalist experience in Human Resources, preferably within a health care unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of collective agreements, employment guides and relevant legislation (e.g. privacy legislation)
  • Demonstrated planning, organizing, prioritizing and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including ability to work as a team member and ability to foster collaborative relationships
  • Demonstrated accountability, initiative, and ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality; recognize sensitive issues and respond appropriately.
  • Physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
  • Knowledge of adult education and learning principles
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and Human Resources Information Systems, including Success Factors/SAP.
