Give and Go Prepared Foods Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)Financial Analyst


Reporting to the Finance Manager, Responsible for assisting with budgeting, forecasting, tracking, analysis and reporting of various financial data for numerous departments (Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations) that support the achievement of short and long-term business objectives.

The incumbent must be able to merge cost accounting with financial planning and analysis skills in a manufacturing context.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist with budget and forecast preparations, tracking and reporting of variances (including creation of templates and consolidation of data) o Analyze general ledger accounts on a periodic basis
  • Responsible for aiding various departments in ensuring accurate and correct accounting classification of expenditures
  • Prepare analytical reports such as trend analysis, selling price analysis, sales bridges and sales and margin analysis by customer and products
  • Play an integral role in during implementation and further utilization of MS Navision ERP system
  • Act as super user of ERP system and is responsible for training other financial staff as needed
  • Take on projects as assigned, such as analyzing material waste reduction initiatives, validating standard cost/labour efficiency and preparing root cause analysis for various issues
  • Responsible for various month end activities
  • Analyze weekly and monthly variance reports and provide explanations for deviations
  • Assist in the preparation of Financial Statements for internal review and analysis 2 Sales, Marketing, and Operations Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, tracking, analysis and reporting of various financial data within the organization
  • Assist with the yearend audits, providing the proper documentation where necessary

  • Follow company's health and safety program, rules and procedures and work in compliance with health and safetyrelated legislation and codes
  • Report all incidents, injuries, illnesses, and near misses to your Supervisor
  • Use or wear safety equipment and personal protective equipment required by the company
  • Report to supervisor any hazardous or unsafe conditions, absence or defects in equipment and any contravention of health and safety legislation
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), adapting message to suit stakeholder group
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP
  • Ability to prioritize, organize workload, and manage time effectively with a proven ability to work in a high demand and fast faced environment
  • Forwarding invoices for payment approval and tracking their progress
  • Sound judgement and good analytical skills, as well as excellent research skills

Qualifications:


  • Excellent MS Office experience and skills, specifically with Excel
  • Completion of college diploma in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field of study
  • Minimum 5 years of previous experience in an analyst role
  • Minimum 2 years experience with MS Nav or a similar ERP system
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment


  • Certifications / Designations

  • Completion of CPA, CMA, or CGA designation
