Key Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate and ontime routine and nonroutine analysis at the HPC
  • Product Quality (PQ) Laboratory including final product certification.
  • Daily and effective communication with operational, environmental, engineering
- departments and off-spec notification.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment as per
- identified standard requirements (i.e. internal QA/QC, preventative maintenance,

  • ISO 9001 and
  • Support continuous improvement to assure reliable operations of the laboratory.
  • Work closely with other laboratory team and plant operations to assist in product
- quality investigations.

  • Participate in internal and external audits.
Education, Skills and Experience

  • Chemistry Technology Diploma, BSc in Chemistry or Environmental Science
  • Experience:
  • At least 5 years' previous experience in a similar role/industry
  • Hands on experience with laboratory instrumentation and proven ability to
- troubleshoot equipment. i.e. Gas Chromatography (GC), Inductively Coupled

  • Plasma (ICP), Autotitrator, HACH test kits, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD)
- testing, Ion Chromatography (IC), Discrete Analyzer, X-Ray Fluorescence

  • Spectroscopy (XRF), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Hydraulic
  • Press, Extruder, Melt Flow Index, Instron Tensile Tester, Izod Impact Tester,
  • Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR), etc.
  • Ability to work independently and in a flexible team environment.
  • Solid organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • Diversified communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with a laboratory environment and ability to prioritize work in changing
- plant operations.

  • Familiarity with working with lab equipment, instrumentation and troubleshooting,
- and LIMS data entry.

Hours:
Expected working hours are a rotating 9x80 shift schedule.
