Position Summary:

The Inventory Analyst will be responsible for identifying and bringing visibility to inventory risk.

As part of the S&OP team, this role works cross-functionally to drive decisions and actions to minimize the negative financial impacts of problem inventory and ensuring that any financial implications are reflected in inventory reserves to support our financial forecasts.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Monthly review of excess/at risk Inventory, including inventory projections, covering Food Service and Retail finished goods, and raw materials. Highlight potential aged/excess inventory concerns to Sales & Marketing, while providing recommendations to reduce or prevent inventory losses.
  • Lead monthly inventory risk assessment meetings with sales operations team to address the highest aged/excess inventory concerns and follow up as necessary to ensure action is being taken in a timely manner.
  • Support S&OP annual budget, and forecast functions as required.
  • Support monthly financial close and monthly/quarterly financial forecast by calculating projected inventory and inventory reserves.
  • Support the creation of monthly inventory reporting for monthly review of inventory trends including Inventory Turns, Aged Inventory, Excess Inventory, Held Inventory, Weeks of Inventory etc.
  • Create and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI) related to inventory management to support weekly and monthly Supply Chain Scorecards.
  • Support supply chain projects and routine inventory discussions by providing analyses using Rapid Response, corporate BI tools and offline tools.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree is required, financial acumen is considered an asset in this role
  • A Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory management and/or supply chain or equivalent is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP Software, (JD Edwards preferred), Sales and Operations Planning or Advanced Planning Software, Microsoft Office, (with Excel proficiency of intermediate advanced)
  • Proven analytical ability, able to obtain insights from data and create necessary action steps required to meet targets.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with proven ability to prioritize.
  • Detail oriented, with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proven desire and ability to identify and execute improvements to processes and analyses.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and negotiation skills.
  • Supply chain certifications are a plus. (APICS, CSCP, CPIM, CPSCM, PMAC etc.)
