Project Manager
NOTE:

Summary:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing multiple projects, from start-up to closeout.
Job Duties include but not limited to:
- Manage projects simultaneously.
- Setup and start projects including coordination with General Contractors, Consultants, Suppliers and Sub-Contractors
- Manage closeout of projects, ensuring completion of all deficiencies and resolution of any outstanding construction or client issues
- Attend and actively participate in project site meetings
- Work in cooperation with UEL's Safety Officer to establish, maintain and enforce safe work practices and procedures.
- Create, manage and maintain job schedules.
- Manage and schedule shop drawing submissions and requests for information (RFI's).
- Liaise with clients, sub trades and suppliers for scheduling, coordination and pricing
- Manage client billings, approvals and expedite change order approvals
- Review of estimate and job costs
- Assist with the evaluation of subtrade pricing
- Investigate potential highrisk situations, provide solutions to the best interest of the project and company
- Develop cost saving methods
Requirements:
-
MUST have experience in the structural steel industry
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology preferred
- Trades person with Welding/Ironwork experience considered
- Minimum 10 years' project management experience relating to steel construction
- Proven experience handling projects of varying complexity and size.
- Good understanding of building drawings and specifications
Must have experience with steel construction practices including steel material, shop fabrication, field erection and welding
- Strong analytical and detailoriented skills are critical, along with exceptional time management and problem solving skills
- Ability to identify and manage risk and opportunities on construction projects.
- Ability to create and manage project budgets and schedules
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and written
- Selfmotivated with strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all teams and levels in the organization
- Detailing experience with TEKLA / AutoCAD
- Willingness to travel; a valid driver's license is required
Experience:
Construction Project Management: 10 years (preferred)
