About Us:
The PNG Tenure Operations Branch plays a key role in the development of petroleum and natural gas, geothermal and pore space resources in Alberta.
The Branch leases petroleum and natural gas rights (PNG), geothermal and pore space rights owned by the Province of Alberta to oil and gas companies so that they can explore for and develop these resources.
Role:
This position reports to the Manager of Agreement Administration and is part of PNG Tenure's Business Integration Technology Support Team.
Collectively, they design, develop, maintain, and resolve automated system issues which intersect and impact various other working units within Energy Operations.
The Business Integration Technology Support Team supports daily operations across the branch with respect to process management and system operations.
The position researches, builds, validates, and tests system enhancements and ensures correct tenure and corporate information is available for all users.
The positions responsibilities include:
- Leading the development, testing, maintenance and ongoing assessment of Information Technology Systems utilized in the branch to ensure information systems are responsive to business needs and function in accordance with the applicable acts and regulations.
- Identifying and resolving issues affecting PNG Tenure's business.
- Contributing to the development of program policy, guidelines, procedures, and processes for systems used in the branch.
- Providing information and training related to system use and redevelopment.
Qualifications:
Requirement:
- University graduation in a related field such as business, computer science or information management.
- Minimum 2 years progressively responsible related experience.
Related experience must include:
- Experience developing and maintaining IT systems, including gathering requirements, designing systems, completing usability testing, system implementation, and delivering training.
Equivalencies will be considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of related education for 1 year of directly related experience; or
- 1 year of directly related experience for 1 year of related education.
Assets:
- Project management experience.
- Up to date knowledge of software test design and testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of information management and business productivity software such as Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of applicable systems such as Foundation, AMI, ETS, LAMAS2, CARS2, Petrinex and AER systems (One Stop and DDS).
- Excellent verbal and written and communication skills.
- Direct experience in the Petroleum and Natural Gas Tenure business.

Salary:
$2,588.06 to $3,397.76 bi-weekly ($67,548 - $88,681/year)
