The position of Roofing Superintendent is a skilled role, in which the Roofing Superintendent is responsible for

planning, organizing, and overseeing the daily activities of multiple roofing crews. The Roofing Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring roofing systems are built with the highest degree of quality, in the safest and most cost-effective manner. This position works closely with management in order to ensure that all of the necessary work gets done as safe and efficient as possible.

  • Job Responsibilities (Day in the Life)
  • Schedule & manage crews on site
  • Monitor, approve and track labour hours
  • Assist in the hiring and separation of field employees
  • Ensure crews meet or exceed safety plan
  • Ensure all site paperwork is up to date, including safety, field reports, etc.
  • Communicate daily with crews, management, subtrades, consultants and GC
  • Attend meetings as required including hand off, prestart and other onsite meetings
  • Proactively determine equipment needs on site and coordinate their delivery
  • Ensure production goals are being achieved while following Flynn's QA/QC program
  • Coach & mentor crews
  • Responsible for productivity, expediting materials/equipment and the contractual performance of the project
  • Job Responsibilities (Other)
  • Identify any extras to the original contract and notify project team
  • Update labour sheets and maintain accurate project forecast
  • Preplan job site
  • Identify, document and complete any deficiencies
  • Complete final walk through with GC, manufacturer and/or inspector once project is complete
  • Assist and advise on crew composition and manpower requirements
  • Work with the foreman and Project Management to get accurate field measurements.
  • Perform a Post-Mortem on projects with the project team
  • Issue project submittals/transmittals, RFI's and order materials
  • Track, review and control project costs
  • Address project disputes and back charges
  • Establish and maintain relationships with contractors, clients, suppliers and consultants
  • Provide technical assistance
  • Maintain project records
