We have an opening for a full time
Valve Technician based out of our
Edmonton South Branch.

This position will be responsible for supporting our Aftermarket and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Valve business by performing basic instrumentation task while disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, repairing/reconditioning all on-site valves.

This position will report to the Aftermarket PRV Manager - Edmonton.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair/recondition all onsite valves
  • Perform basic instrumentation tasks
  • Reassemble and paint valves as required
  • Complete actuation teardown and assembly
  • Complete all documentation required during the repair/recondition process
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Data entry and sourcing information as required
  • Promotes a safe culture, which includes attending all safety meetings
  • Ensures quality by following standard work instructions, where applicable, and identifying any potential risks to product quality
  • Ensure the work area remains clean and well organized

Requirements:


  • High school Diploma preferred
  • Minimum 13 years working on valves in a shop environment as an ANSI Technician or equivalent mechanical experience
  • Journeyman ticket in a servicing trade
  • Knowledge of Gate, Globe, Control, Check, Ball, and other valves is an asset
  • Basic level computer skills in MS Office products
  • Valid H2S, CSTS, Fall Arrest, and WHIMIS is preferred
  • Ability to travel with, little to no notice, within Alberta and Saskatchewan on occasion
  • Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • The ability to problemsolve and troubleshoot mechanical problems
  • Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks
  • Balances interests of a variety of customers; readily readjusts priorities to respond to pressing and changing demands
  • Ability to adapt to new ideas, technology, processes, or product changes
