IT College Coordinator - Nursing:

Primary Purpose:

Reporting to the Senior Director - Enterprise Solutions, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and under the direction of the Director of Operations and Strategic Planning, College of Nursing, the IT College Coordinator provides leadership, vision and expertise relating to information technology activities and projects.


Nature of Work:

The College of Nursing is the largest non-departmentalized college and among the most distributed, with faculty, staff, and students engaged across seven geographic locations in Saskatchewan.

A long-term planning perspective is required to oversee the development of multi-year plans for the evolution of technology solutions.

The ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, problem solve, and make decisions on a variety of issues practically and expediently are key factors for success in this position.

Creativity is required to identify and recommend alternate strategies when appropriate. Must be able to develop partnerships and work effectively with decision makers at all levels of an organization. The ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in an environment where interruptions are the norm is required.


Accountabilities:


  • Effective leadership to ensure the delivery, performance, quality and security of services and support to the college. Provides strategic leadership that focuses on institutional and college outcomes.
  • Utilizing both the Technology Plan and the College's strategic plan, foster shared vision, long term thinking, imagination and idea generation, enabling multiyear planning, and forecasting for technology activities and projects.
  • Participate in strategic and operational governance processes with respect to the evolution of information technology services within ICT and the college and assist with managing IT service expectations to ensure positive stakeholder experiences.
  • Develop performance measures to evaluate information technology investments and service delivery and assist in ensuring the successful implementation of improvements needed to information systems processes.
  • Develops and fosters mutually beneficial relationships with college faculty and staff, ICT teams, the University community, and key strategic partners, including other colleges, with the ability to listen and establish credibility as a strategic partner.
  • Ability to lead change using positive and collaborative methods.
  • Provincial travel required on occasion.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as business, information technology, etc.) is preferred. A graduate degree, or Business Relationship Management designation would be considered an asset.


Experience:
Relevant experience in information technology and strategic analysis with progressively responsible leadership experience.

Demonstrated experience in eliciting system requirements, defining business capabilities, developing IT strategic plans through collaboration and extensive consultation and managing outcomes through a Portfolio Management framework.

Experience communicating and facilitating dialogue, building consensus and building effective and collegial working relationships with a broad range of constituents in a complex environment.

Experience in leading change to enhance effectiveness and efficiency. Applied experience in implementing innovative solutions to technical challenges.
