Description

With exceptional listening and compassion skills, and the ability to translate Vancity's Good Money brand promise to our members, we are seeking an analytical professional who will perform a variety of tasks related to enhancing our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program.

This is a
Full-time, 18 months' work assignment and this role reports directly to the Manager Enterprise Risk Management.

About the workplace


This role will report to Manager of ERM and enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office.

Periodically, you'll be required to attend in-person activities or events.


What You Will Do:


  • Support the annual refresh of risk management frameworks for Vancity and Vancity Community Investment Bank including Risk Appetite Framework and Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management Framework and Third-Party Risk Management Framework.
  • Develop policies, tools and practices in alignment with industry best practices to implement the risk management frameworks

This will include:

  • Close collaboration with internal stakeholders to support design of Third-Party Risk Management program.
  • Design and implementation of Risk Control Self
  • Assessment (RCSA) program.
  • Work with lines of business across the enterprise to identify and conduct analysis on key risk indicators to support monitoring of emerging risks that may impact strategic goals.
  • Support quarterly Board of Directors reporting process.

You have:


  • Minimum 5+ years relevant enterprise and/or operational risk management experience, preferably in the financial industry.
  • A postsecondary degree in a related discipline.
  • Canadian Risk Management certification is beneficial.
  • Project management experience is beneficial.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to clearly communicate issues and solutions to all levels, on both a formal and informal basis.
  • You possess advanced analytical skills and problem
- solving skills with strong attention to detail and ability to interpret information.

  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • The ability to work independently and integrated as part of a small team with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines, especially during Board reporting cycles.
  • You possess advanced Power Point, Excel and Word skills.
