Position Summary
The HR Adminitrator is essential to the department as they deliver effective services to all stakeholders in the success of Hammond Manufacturing.
The HR Adminitrator plays a key role in developing and supporting HR initiatives and programs and driving a positive company culture.
The HR Adminitrator will provide support to the team in the design and delivery of best practices and HR solutions pertaining to Recruitment & Selection, Employee Communications, Training & Development, HR Policy Development, Performance Planning & Evaluation, Employee Relations, Workforce Planning, Employee Welfare, Rewards & Recognition, Change Management, and Strategic Human Resources Management.
Responsibilities
- General Overview_
- Support day to day operations of human resources department
- Create and maintain all records/databases, personal files and record keeping
- Participate in special projects as required
- Support investigation of any issues surrounding violence and harassment in the workplace. Prepare appropriate documentation and provide resolutions
- Support STD & LTD claims management
- Provide employee services, benefits and counselling
- Support employee safety
- Recruitment, Selection & Retention_
- Policy_
- Prepare reports, research & develop new HR policies as requested
- Give guidance to employees on the interpretation of established HR policies
- Revise and update company handbook/policies & procedures to ensure they are in alignment with changing corporate values and culture while complying with current applicable laws
- Performance Planning & Evaluation_
- Ensure documentations pertaining to evaluations are updated and kept in order
- Provide guidance to managers on regulatory compliance during recruitment and selection
- Prepare reports and analysis of key HR metrics such as absenteeism, turnover, headcount, and creating and maintaining organizational charts
- Maintain training records and review training material
- Employee/Labour Relations_
- Provide assistance to employees on all HR related matters and ensure positive employee relations
- Assist in the publication of monthly Chatterbox, post notices, monitor communication boards and support various communication initiatives
- Prepare seniority lists in accordance with the Collective Agreement
- Support the process of layoff and recall from layoff notices compiling and issuing notices according to government and collective agreement standards
- Plan and coordinate social activities
- Assist and provide counsel on progressive disciplinary issues and performance management issues to management
- Conduct investigations or otherwise required and provide recommendations
- Ensure that terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement are followed and provide recommendations to management as required
- Qualifications_
- Postsecondary Education in Human Resources Management
- 13 years related experience or equivalent combined education and experience
- CHRP designation an asset
- Proficient with MS Office software
- Strong knowledge of applicable HR legislation
- Organized with attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
