Position Purpose:
Overall duty of this position is to support the business with driving field testing. The Driver is responsible for the operation and assessment of vehicle ADAS features and basic vehicle maintenance as directed.

We are currently looking for 1 day shift driver and 4 night shift drivers to support this project. The hours of work for the day shift will be from 6:00am - 2:00pm MT. The hours of work for the night shift will be from 10:00pm - 6:00am MT. This project will be 2-4 weeks in duration.

Due to the nature of this position there will be on-call and overtime requirements.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs basic vehicle inspection before and after driving.
  • Completes basic data sheet for each test including timing, mileage and findings.
  • Turns on and starts the data logger recording system at the beginning of the driving shift.
  • Ability to follow the correct defined route with no deviations.
  • Ensures shutdown of vehicle onboard computer systems at the end of the shift.
  • Communicates and collaborates clearly with other Drivers while performing the same test activities.
  • Sends data hard disc devices periodically using the appropriate courier companies.
  • Notifies the maintenance department of any vehicles that require attention.
  • Ensures safe driving practices at all times.
  • Keeps company vehicle neat and clean.
  • Adheres to organizational policies and procedures, including but not limited to Applus Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Agreements.
  • Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years' driving experience.
  • Valid Provincial Class 5 driver's license.
  • Minimum of 3 years' clean driver's record.
  • Equivalent industry experience combined with other formal training and accreditations may be accepted.

Working Conditions:

  • Required to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid and dry/arid conditions in temperature extremes and inclement weather.
  • Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials in various working environments.
  • Commonly exposed to walking on slippery or uneven surfaces.
  • Occasionally required to work in noisy/loud working environments especially on project sites.
  • Required to work overtime during the week and weekend depending on project scope and work volume.
  • Occasional to frequent travel will be required within Canada.
  • Working conditions will vary between project locations.
