SMS Equipment, our
Project Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the business and collaborating with Project Managers to implement business requirements and processes that can be supported by a range of systems and technologies, with the objective to optimize the end-to-end process.

The
Project Business Analyst will provide guidance, support, and expertise on projects to the business user groups. This position is in
Acheson, AB.
This position offers a
hybrid work arrangement.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Participate in and lead workshops with users, General Managers, Directors, Business Application Manager, IT Security, Architects, and project teams.
  • Support the above stakeholders to identify, analyze, document business requirements and process opportunities such as policies, process flows, business case development etc.
  • Provide support to Project Managers through communication of how data is currently being used within supported systems and explaining how the business operates on the front line.
  • Support Project Managers to complete requirements gathering, impact assessments and quality assurance efforts as required as well as assisting with mapping data attributes as required for supporting systems and documenting test scripts required for projects and completing testing when required.
  • Provide support to the change management team by identifying areas requiring attention from the training group and participating in the development of user communications, to include policy and process updates and technical solutions.
  • Lead the business units through the acceptance testing process for project changes to systems and processes.

Qualifications:


Other requirements include:

  • Thorough understanding of business processes, data structure, reporting and internal controls, typically gained through multiple years of industry experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills to thoroughly conceptualize complex business processes and the impact changes can make on business areas.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills must have the ability to document technical requirements.
  • Excellent discipline and time management skills to plan, manage and deliver results within a team and projects.
  • Ability to define and coordinate the execution of testing procedures and develop test cases to serve the overall quality assurance process.
  • Ability to proactively identify and manage risk.
  • Experience in Parts, Equipment Sales, Service, Manufacturing, Remanufacturing and or Warranty businesses is an asset.
  • Experience in network, security, telecommunication, mobility, infrastructure is an asset.
  • ERP experience is an asset.
  • Experience with JIRA, Microsoft Azure, Miro, Mural, or other tools considered an asset.
