Position overview:


Key responsibilities:

Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the restaurant team, inspiring high performance and team to deliver exceptional service and exceed guest expectations.

Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, including staffing, scheduling, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Customer Experience: Ensure that every guest receives a warm welcome and enjoys a memorable dining experience, resolving any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.

Financial Performance: Manage budgets, control food & labor costs, and optimize revenue opportunities to achieve profitability targets in close collaboration with the operations manager.

HR and Staff Development:Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Oversee and supervise human resources closely with the head chef and the maître d'hôtel (hiring and termination of staff, scheduling, performance evaluation, conflict management, staff development/promotions).

Community Engagement: Act as a brand ambassador for Chez Lionel, building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and the local community to drive customer loyalty and awareness. Represent the establishment (with industry associations, business communities, clientele). Conduct promotional activities (advertising, production and distribution of promotional materials, participation in trade shows, public relations activities, etc.) in accordance with the action plan and strategies developed.

Quality Assurance: Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service consistency, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as needed. Conduct daily facility inspections and ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, health, and safety standards.

Innovation: Keep abreast of industry trends and competitor activities, identifying opportunities for innovation and differentiation to enhance the restaurant's competitive position.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in restaurant management, preferably in a fine dining or brasseriestyle establishment.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
  • Proven track record in achieving financial targets and managing budgets effectively.
  • Knowledge of French cuisine, wine, and hospitality traditions is an asset.
  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
  • Fluent in English and French
  • Food Handler Certification (preferred)
