March 29, 202- Works safely, reports all workplace hazards and follows all YWCA Hamilton Health and Safety policies and procedures,

  • Familiar with, and adheres to the Occupational Health & Safety Act, (OHSA) Workplace Safety Insurance Board Act (WSIB), Human Rights and Employment Standards Act (ESA);
  • Participates in annual Health & Safety training provided by the YWCA;
  • Attends and participates in staff/team meetings;
  • Ensures compliance with YWCA Hamilton policies and procedures;
  • Maintains high level of confidentiality/privacy when working with client information;
  • Facilitates outreach, intake and recruitment for preapprenticeship training programs for participants and employer placements
  • Promotes and markets the Pre-Apprenticeship Program; working with the Development department;
  • Nurtures and forms meaningful internal and external working relationships and partnerships;
  • Understands emerging trends, leading practices, industry professional standards;

  • Supports the YWCA Hamilton mission, vision and values;
  • Performs other duties as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Works 37.5 hour work week; mainly Monday to Friday with occasional evenings and weekends as required

Qualifications

  • Must have current Emergency First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain at own cost;
  • Equivalent to the completion of 2 years college in business administration, career development or human resources;
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in skilled trades, or social services;
  • Career Development Practitioner (CDP) or Job Development Professional (JDP) is an asset;
  • Valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle is required;
  • Bilingual English/French or other languages an asset.
  • Must be able to lead and work from a feminist, antiracist / antioppressive perspective for operations and strategic planning;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Bilingual English/French or other languages an asset.
  • Must provide a current Criminal record Judicial Matters or willingness to obtain at own cost;
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision, and also work effectively in a team.
