Job Summary

  • Dalhousie University's Faculty of Medicine teaches scientific excellence and humanities in medicine, facilitates leading health research, influences social and health policy, and helps drive the regional economy. Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Physician Assistant Program, the Program Manager is accountable for the management and administration of the financial, human, and operational resources and the effective and efficient management of all administrative activities related to the Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative direction regarding the goals and objectives of the program by examining, reviewing and assessing immediate and longterm needs.
  • Manages the MPAS operational budget, including salaries, submits the annual budget and regular budget reviews.
  • Ensures the provision of frontline service to faculty, staff and students and sets standards for the quality of the program's services. Ensures an efficient flow of program office and information services.
  • Conducts research and analyze the evidence to provide recommendations to Assistant Dean regarding issues related to the program.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of new policies/procedures, strategic planning, development of costeffective measures and userfriendly services.

Note

  • The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of inperson work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration or relevant field, plus approximately five years' of related experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Demonstrated experience in managing resources and operations.
  • Good communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills and financial management skills.
  • Excellent business management, leadership qualities and developmental skills.
