The Production Laboratory Associate will report to the Senior Laboratory Manager or other designated management as required.

You will be responsible for producing a finished product that is derived from Cannabis, for sale under the Cannabis Act.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Extract and refine target compounds from cannabis materials as per prescribed procedures;
  • Receiving of extraction materials, equipment and consumables;
  • Preparing materials, equipment and rooms for milling, extraction, processing and formulation processes;
  • Formulate cannabis extracts for commercial use using qualitative and quantitative data in conjunction with standard operating procedures;
  • Conduct and support activities to prepare cannabis materials for the extraction process;
  • Ensure starting materials and finished products are in compliance with current Cannabis Regulations;
  • Upkeep electronic and physical inventory records of all cannabis and noncannabis materials used and produced within the department;
  • Review and update standard operating procedures and documentation forms as required;
  • Actively keep up to date with current advancements in research, equipment and procedures within the cannabis industry relevant to the department;
  • Coordinate and assist with other departments to fulfill interdepartmental objectives as needed; and
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be added more modified as required throughout the course of your employment.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Grade 11 Chemistry, Associate in Science preferred;
  • Able to lift 20 kg;
  • 12 years of previous production or lab experience; extraction lab experience strongly preferred; and
  • Experience with solvent extraction considered a strong asset.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • Hands on experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and ERP (i.e. Ample Organics, SAP);
  • Experience working with flammable solvents;
  • Experience working in a fastpaced setting and adept at multitasking and prioritizing assignments;
  • Experience managing multiple parallel activities simultaneously and prioritizing workload; strong organization, time management, detail oriented, and analytical abilities; and
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry or capacity.
