Position Summary:
Under the direction of MWC faculty, the graduate research assistant works independently and collaboratively to identify best practices, tools, and resources to support the development of disciplinary-specific written and oral communication skills at the graduate level.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out an environmental scan of best practices to support graduate communication, e.g., writing fellows programs.
- Conduct research on supporting written and oral communication skills of graduate students.
- Prepare writing resources appropriate for graduate students, e.g., disciplinaryspecific article database; argument analysis; handouts.
- Share findings or resources to build awareness of Graphos activities amongst students, staff, faculty.
Qualifications:
- Current McGill PhD student
- Wellhoned research skills
- Taskoriented and able to work autonomously
- Strong writing and communication skills
The graduate research assistant will be working under the direction of MWC faculty members, approximately 6 hours per week, starting as soon as possible until April 27, 2024.
