Position Summary:


Under the direction of MWC faculty, the graduate research assistant works independently and collaboratively to identify best practices, tools, and resources to support the development of disciplinary-specific written and oral communication skills at the graduate level.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out an environmental scan of best practices to support graduate communication, e.g., writing fellows programs.
  • Conduct research on supporting written and oral communication skills of graduate students.
  • Prepare writing resources appropriate for graduate students, e.g., disciplinaryspecific article database; argument analysis; handouts.
  • Share findings or resources to build awareness of Graphos activities amongst students, staff, faculty.

Qualifications:

  • Current McGill PhD student
  • Wellhoned research skills
  • Taskoriented and able to work autonomously
  • Strong writing and communication skills


The graduate research assistant will be working under the direction of MWC faculty members, approximately 6 hours per week, starting as soon as possible until April 27, 2024.

Compensation is $25/hr.
