The
Hansen's Group of Companies is seeking a well-rounded, detailed oriented and professional
Payroll & HR Coordinator to join its corporate HR team.

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, this role shall maintain an effective level of business literacy about the Group of Companies and support a broad spectrum of HR & Payroll programs, policies & services to its diverse workforce.

This role will handle highly sensitive information, provide guidance to employees and managers on related HR & Payroll matters as such the ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate integrity and build trusted working relationships is essential.

Payroll (80%)

  • Develop and maintain technical competence with Dayforce HCM to assist with Group Bi-Weekly Payroll processing within established timelines.
  • Act as backup and process full Payroll when the Payroll & Benefits Administrator is on annual vacation.
  • Process New Hires, Terminations, Leave of Absence in Dayforce HCM and maintain accurate documentation for employee files.
  • Coordinate with employees on Benefits Enrollments, Changes and Terminations for Group Health, Group RRSP and Group Long Term Disability Programs.
  • Assist with the Annual Federal Regulatory Employment Reporting and Programs (WEIMS) and

Statistic Canada:
Employment & Wage Surveys.

  • Review Benefits Invoices for reconciliation of enrollments & terminations.
  • Provide Employment Agencies with Weekly Employee Time Sheets and Reconcile Agency Invoices for payments, resolve gaps with Managers.
  • Provide Agency accrual Monthly Reconciliation to Accounts Payable.
  • Support routine and other reports relating to payroll & HR reporting.
  • Maintain uptodate and accurate employees Benefits and GRRSP data as per department requirements.
  • Provide support and resolution to employees and managers on Benefit matters.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation of employee deductions for benefits and RRSP.

Human Resources (20%)

  • Coordinate WCB/WSIB return to work cases with all parties and update status.
  • Respond to employee inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Notice Boards across all locations are compliant with required jurisdictions.
  • Provide support with company Annual Employee Service Awards Programs, Annual Scholarship Program & Other Employee Events.
  • Provide support with Pay Equity Program.
  • Participate in the Audits of HRM systems and implementation of corrective actions.

Education and Experience:


  • University degree/College diploma and/or equivalent experience in Payroll / HR Departments.
  • Working knowledge of Dayforce HCM Payroll or other Payroll Systems would be an asset.

Salary:
$32,130.76-$54,999.79 per year
