Procurement Coordinator - Whitby, Canada - TC Transcontinental
Description
the Procurement Coordinator role will also be responsible for all aspects of supplier management and purchase order processes including sourcing materials and parts, compiling and analyzing spend and supplier information in support of the site.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and contribute to a health and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies and initiatives
- Manage purchase order process for the site ranging from purchase orders for MRO spend, raw materials, office supplies and contractor services.
- Coordinate with Storeroom Clerk to ensure spare parts inventory is accurate and stockitem levels are appropriate
- Establish critical equipment and key parts lists while monitoring inventory turnover and evaluate obsolete parts to destock
- Maintain and improve usage of Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for purchasing and planning
- Maintain purchasing module of ERP system including updating data, investigating and correcting errors or discrepancies in PO pricing and receiving quantities.
- Conduct safety briefings for contractors who are brought on site and ensuring all proper documentation is secured prior to the start of the contracted work
- Review purchasing history to evaluate consumption patterns or cost concerns and identify savings opportunities
- Work closely with corporate and sector procurement, safety, and accounting personnel to meet company objectives
- Prepare and submit new supplier onboarding requests
- Monitor and maintain supplier/vendor performance and communicate results.
- Follow up with all vendors on deliveries
- Escalate any critical supply challenges/risks
- Perform other tasks/projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, management, finance, or related field would be an asset
- 5 years' previous experience in procurement roles
- Knowledge of Peoplesoft or iRen will be an asset
- MRO/Stores experience will be an asset
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong analytical ability
- Flexible and adaptable to everchanging priorities
- Strong customer focus and communication skills
Salary:
$65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
