Job Duties

  • Responsible for timely, accurate and complete cost estimating for assigned custom retail store fixtures projects (wood and/or metal)
  • Create material takeoffs and labour estimates according to specifications
  • May require project managing duties as needed
  • Solicits subcontractors and or suppliers for information and pricing
  • Coordinates with different team members to confirm complete scope of project
  • Researches specific material to be used when required
  • Creates budget friendly proposals for customers with limited information
  • Analyzes completed projects, to compare actual numbers to estimated numbers and determine the reasons for the discrepancies
  • Other duties are assigned
Key Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blue prints
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Outlook. Word would be an asset
  • Able to work within the time sensitive schedules & tight deadlines
  • Some project management skills
  • Selfdirected and motivated to achieve results
  • Attentive, ontime, organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to multi task and monitor and prioritize multiple jobs to meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
  • Customer focus primarily deals with internal customers
  • Must be familiar with manufacturing processes in both wood and/or metal manufacturing
Experience Required

  • 3+ years experience estimating custom wood and or metal manufactured products. Experience estimating retail store fixtures would be ideal
  • Familiarity working within a computerized environment

Salary:
$39,806.07-$90,624.47 per year

  • Woodbridge, ON L4L 8P4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- construction estimating: 1 year (preferred)
