Job Number:49727**Do you enjoy projects focused on continuous improvement? Do you want to be an agent of change to the City of Edmonton's services and programs? This is your chance to make a difference as an Auditor within the Office of the City Auditor team

In this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Complete assignments under the leadership of a Senior Auditor or Audit Manager
  • Identify, analyze, evaluate, and document sufficient, appropriate evidence to achieve the project objectives
  • Regularly communicate progress towards identified goals and outcomes and determine the best method of reporting to meet the needs of decision makers
  • Sort, consolidate, and prioritize findings, implications and recommendations from various sources
  • Support the Senior Auditor and Audit Manager with the timely notification and/or escalation of issues, with proposed solutions
  • Conduct the project's tasks within agreed upon budget and timelines
  • Prepare, collaborate, and contribute to writing accurate, clear, concise, and objective audit reports
  • Develop and manage relationships with key project stakeholders
  • Act as a trusted advisor to branch, department, and corporate stakeholders and the Office of the City Auditor
  • Contribute to the completion of multiple projects within budget
  • Monitor and report on contributed hours and tasks on projects
  • Other related duties as required

Qualifications:


  • A University degree. For example, Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or Law. Postgraduate degrees or other applicable specializations are desirable
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of audit experience or experience in a related technical field such as, business process improvement, project management, operational management, data science or analytics, or a combination of those experiences. An applicable postgraduate degree or certification may be considered to be equivalent to up to two years of experience
  • Certifications such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA); Certified Internal Auditor (CIA); Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA); or other related certifications are considered as an asset
  • Experience with data analytics, machine learning, data mining, and data visualization is an asset
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of several of the following areas: organizational theory, risk analysis, management concepts, finance, economics, information technology, and engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently with mínimal supervision and on project teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build morale and promote teamwork
  • Proficiency in any data analytics tool (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, ACL Analytics or Caseware IDEA) is considered an asset

_ Up to 2 permanent full-time positions_

Hours of Work: 36.9 hours per week, Monday - Friday. This position is eligible to participate in the City of Edmonton's Hybrid Work Arrangement program.


Salary:
$76, 660 - $109, 514 (Annually)
