What you will do:
Humber Libraries is hiring a resourceful and collaborative Part-Time Learning Commons Technician to provide high-quality support services to students, faculty, and staff at Humber's North Learning Commons (1 position).
Reporting to the Manager, Learning Services, the incumbent will provide a variety of IT and Library support services to students and members of the Humber College community.
Common responsibilities of the role include assisting users on how to use Multi-Function Devices (MFDs), Humber wireless, Blackboard, MyHumber, Microsoft Office software, the Library's online study room booking system, and circulation of technology equipment.
Learning Commons Technicians also regularly refer inquiries to other departments within Humber, and provide referrals and directions to other services, tours and community events.
Hours of work:
- Up to 24 hours/week. Work shift changes as required
- Shifts start as early as 7:30am and end as late as 6:00pm, Monday
- Friday
What you bring to the role:
Education
Two-Year Community College Diploma; Library Technician diploma an asset.
Experience
One-year customer service experience in a public service environment; experience working in a library is an asset.
Skills
Specific skills required include the ability to work independently and exercise good judgment in a demanding public service environment; demonstrated superior customer service skills; and excellent interpersonal skills.
