Applications are invited for the two (2) positions of Facilities Operations Lead in the Facilities Management & Campus Safety Division, located at the Daniel J.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provides leadership and direction to FMS staff and maintains a high level of staff performance to meet the needs of the College community.
- Responds and resolves inquiries for service, complaints, or deliveries as per accepted procedures, ensuring client needs are met and their concerns have been addressed.
- Reviews all work requests received, assigns to appropriate FMS staff, contracted services, project leads, etc.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of schedules and adheres to complex preventative and corrective maintenance programs to ensure asset integrity and value of all building systems.
- Promotes ongoing employee professional development and continuous learning by actively exploring and identifying growth/development opportunities to support employee upskilling and cross training.
- Ensures compliance with the College's procurement policy to develop tenders, obtain, negotiate, and evaluate quotations/tenders to meet operating budgets.
- Procures supplies, materials, PPE, and equipment through various vendors and suppliers.
- Monitors costs and productivity to ensure budget requirements as well as department goals, KPIs and metrics are achieved.
- Additional duties beyond regular working hours (emergencies, winter conditions, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Two (2) year diploma in Facilities or Operations Management, Project or Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field of study; or Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) in a related discipline
- Minimum five (5) years progressive experience in facilities management and supervision of unionized staff
- Current practical experience in facilities coordination and project management
- Strong knowledge of architectural, electrical, and mechanical building systems, codes, and standards
- Teamoriented leader with excellent consultative and team building skills
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
- A valid Ontario driver's license, class "G" and use of a personal vehicle
