About the Position:


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Training Operations, you will primarily design and develop training solutions related to the implementation of a new ERP system being rolled out throughout Canada, in multiple modalities.

You may also be asked to deliver some training sessions and/or provide deskside support to the end users.


Role Description & Responsibilities:

The Learning & Development Consultant serves an integral function to enable adoption of this key initiative.

Your knowledge of insurance, skills and expertise in systems transformation, and technical aptitude will deliver successful outcomes for our employees.


Primary Responsibilities:

Design and develop learning content for the MGA Canada ERP project workflow and process

Collaborate with business leaders, business users, and the TechOps Learning & Change team to conduct training sessions as part of this ERP deployment

Collaborate with IT Staff to set up training environment e.g., test data, training scenarios, etc.

Work with the business and the Training Operations team to define and execute key learning objectives

Occasionally conduct instructor-led training sessions (in person or virtually), provide deskside

support to end users, and conduct train-the-trainer sessions

Design and develop learning evaluations and assessments as defined by the curriculum. Analyze results, make recommendations for training improvement, and integrate changes in curriculum and/or courses.

Design and develop learning content - based on adult learning principles - that ensure effective and sustainable learning and performance solutions

Engage in significant collaboration with Operations management and staff to gather and validate content

Positively represent the evolving model of learning diversity encapsulated in the Operations L&D strategy

Develop an understanding of business processes and model the standard operations in all instructional materials


Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in adult learning, instructional design, psychology, or related area of study

3-5+ years' experience as an instructional designer

Experience designing and developing training for Operations and IT

High technical aptitude

Proven experience with adult learning principles


Ability to provide instructional design work samples: WBT, vILT, ILT, JA

Experience with creating customer driven projects

Experience in building strong relationships with SMEs, stakeholders, and sponsors

Ability to influence and drive stakeholders and sponsors in decision making

Strategic thinker and problem solver with ability to quickly assess and summarize information and effectively identify issues or risks and potential resolutions

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Ability to multitask, working on several projects at a time

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Knowledge of and experience with learning development tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline

and Rise), Camtasia (or other video editing software), and Vyond

Ability to travel throughout Canada over the next 3-4 years (with a focus on the Vancouver area to start)

Current and valid passport


Desired Qualifications:

Hands on knowledge and/or experience designing training solutions for ERP systems, preferably NetSuite

Knowledge of the insurance industry, insurance brokerage operations, and insurance wholesale

operations

Experience in training delivery and facilitation

Experience in change management and communications

Graphics or photoimaging software a plus

Ability to travel to HUB corporate office (Chicago, Illinois) and/or other hub locations, as needed
