Your opportunity
We are looking for a motivated individual with experience in recreation facility operations and
park operations to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, Parks and Recreation, you will be
responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Kentville Centennial Arena and the green
spaces within the Town of Kentville. You will be responsible for leading park staff and arena
staff to accomplish the goals set forth by the Parks and Recreation department and ensuring
the highest standard of service is maintained within all our parks and recreation facilities.

Job Duties
Supervisory Responsibilities

  • With support from the arena and park leaders, you will plan, organize, oversee,
coordinate, and review the work of staff related to parks and facilities.

  • You will be responsible for the training and directing of fulltime, parttime, and seasonal
parks and facilities staff, including unionized employees. This will be done in accordance
with the Town of Kentville's Human Resource Policy Manual.

  • You will support the Manager, Recreation Facilities and Parks in the hiring of summer
employees

  • You will implement staff work schedules for arena staff and green space staff (trails,
parks, and fields)

Parks, Trails, Recreation Facilities

  • Oversee work performed by consultants and contractors
  • Provide general supervision and management into the daytoday operations of
- municipal parks & recreation facilities.
  • Ensure that facility equipment, supply inventory, and fleet vehicles are maintained
  • Ensure regular safety inspections on equipment/facilities and safeguard municipal

- assets.
